Originally from New Zealand, chef Peter Gunn’s raw and often daring approach to cooking led to positions at celebrated Australian restaurants including The Royal Mail under Dan Hunter and five years at the world-renowned restaurant Attica as Sous Chef to Ben Shewry. 

In 2016, Peter opened IDES, an intimate urban restaurant in Melbourne.  A meal at IDES is no ordinary experience. The warm, jovial service and ever-changing degustation menu have established a loyal following and critical acclaim, including being awarded two Chef Hats by the Good Food Guide in 2018.
